Renders diagnostic and psychotherapeutic services to children,
adolescents and families; Participates in Quality Assurance and
Utilization Review for assigned cases; Assists in implementing
programmatic and agency priorities within the ECC and Permanency programs
Provides clinic based services to children and families who have
demonstrated (or are at risk for) low engagement in outpatient
clinical services within traditional clinic settings. Services
provided include individual and family therapy, parenting skills
training, crisis management as needed and case management. Skills
utilized include of a range of engagement skills with
difficult-to-engage child and family clients as well as family
advocacy and family therapy. Services provided are in collaboration
with DCF, schools, and other community based providers as needed.
- Provides direct services to children and their families which may
include: Assessment and engagement; Provide DSM IV Diagnosis in
consultation with Supervisor and Medical Director or designated
Psychiatrist; Formulation and contracting for services or treatment
plan; Implementation of treatment plan, modifying it as appropriate
during the course of treatment; Discharge planning which may include
linkages to community support services; Case management services;
Clinical documentation required by agency and program policies,
HIPAA regulations, and funding sources; Maintain productivity
targets determined by service.

setting to meet the unique needs of families served.

- Participates in Peer Consultation and Quality Assurance Reviews
- Works as a team member with other clinical and administrative
staff to respond to client and programmatic needs, including the
implementation of agency policies, procedures, and initiatives.

- Acquiring and maintaining the needed skills in evidenced based

- Transport clients in personal vehicle as needed
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or other licensed
- State of CT license requires (i.e. LCSW, LPC, LMFT)
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience post graduate in an outpatient setting.
- Demonstrated ability to carry a higher caseload consistently;
Clinician II position sustains higher productivity expectations.
- Bilingual/bicultural skills preferred.
- Cultural competency to serve a diverse population.
- Strong diagnostic, assessment and treatment skills for individual,
family and group therapy.
- Extensive experience working with culturally diverse urban
populations, a wide age range, and a variety of clinical presentations.
- Knowledge of mental health, child welfare systems, and community resources.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Valid Connecticut Driver's License and ability to transfer clients
in personal vehicle
- Ability to function autonomously in day-to-day responsibilities;
yet, seek consultation appropriately when needed.
- Proficiency with word processing and general computer skills.
- Physically able to perform the essential functions of the
position, with or without reasonable accommodations. These

function safely in a therapeutic situation, including provision of
services in client homes or host settings.
About The Program
The Therapeutic Foster Care program (TFC) provides safe, nurturing foster homes for children ages 6-18 who have been exposed to trauma and may be challenged with emotional, behavioral and psychiatric issues. Through the use of wraparound services and support, TFC assists children in foster care to achieve their goal of a permanent home. Foster families receive extensive training, care management support, and support group opportunities. Outpatient therapy, case management, on-call support and referrals to other clinical services are available for foster children.
