Responsible for development, coordination and ongoing
implementation of training program that ensures staff competencies
in serving specific target populations of The Village’s Certified
Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) programs. Those
populations include older adults, veterans, adolescents who use
substances, as well as other groups to be identified. The
Coordinator will work closely with The Village’s Training Director,
the CCBHC Project Director and agency-wide leadership to ensure that
clinical and other direct service staff are trained to provide the
highest quality service to clients. The Coordinator will ensure
that both initial and supplemental, focused training is available to
staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational
skills and an interest in furthering the training and continuing
education available at The Village.
Develops a robust training plan for agency staff that focuses on
elderly and veterans’ services, adolescent substance use, trauma
informed practice, cultural humility and diversity, family and
client centered practice, core and advanced clinical competencies
and supervisory development.
Delivers specific training programs targeted, but not limited, to
the above target populations and their unique needs.
Works closely with Village Staff, including the CCBHC Project
Director and clinical supervisors/managers on the coordination and
publication of all training related activities.
Works with Human Resources to ensure tracking of compliance with
all mandated training requirements.
Collaborates with IT to utilize our internal intranet resources
to maximize training opportunities for staff, including web-based programming.
Develops expertise in utilizing Learning Stream software to
evaluate, measure and report on program effectiveness and
Collaborates with The Village’s Analytics Department for
evaluation of training effectiveness.
Researches best service practices and training methods for
Village staff; maintains knowledge and expertise in each target area.
Maintains familiarity with licensing/certification requirements
for professional disciplines in CT and ensures that CCBHC training
programs meet those requirements.
Assists Village Director of Training is providing support and
assistance to graduate student internship program.
Assists Director of Training in developing and providing
additional training programs consistent with The Village’s annual
Excellent oral and written skills and ability to communicate
comfortably with clients, staff, referral sources, and the public.
Supervisory and management experience is a plus.
Ability to work with multiple programs and adapt style to support
the professional development needs in each program.
Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Possess solid general computer skills, including ability to work
in a Windows environment. Knowledge of specific applications used
by The Village and its referral sources is a plus.
Familiarity, sensitivity, and/or experience working with diverse populations.
Sensitivity to the impact of race, gender, sexuality, culture,
language and spirituality on mental health treatment.
Experience in elder and veterans’ services or extensive knowledge
of community and national resources for this
Experience in staff and intern training, program administration,
and adult, child and family treatment.
Experience in trauma informed and evidenced based practices
Experience in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural setting
Ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
The ability to efficiently handle multiple priorities and work autonomously
Good organizational skills
The ability to physically perform the essential functions of the
