This position resides, in the warm, friendly environment on the
Village's main campus; caring for children in a house within the
Licensed registered nurses, with qualifying nursing debt, are
eligible to apply to the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program and
accepted candidates may receive up to 85% of their unpaid nursing

sign-on bonus will be offered as well as a base pay of $32 per hour
plus $3.00 shift differential for 2nd shift..
The Nurse will be responsible for providing physical assessments,
first aid and medical administration to the children of Eagle House.
With respect to children in residential treatment, the nurse will
provide initial nursing assessment, reconcile medication upon
admission, document medical notes as needed and provide discharge
teaching and summary.
- Client oversight Nursing Care.
- Provide initial nursing assessment.
- Document medical notes as needed.
- Provide discharge teaching and summary.
- Monitor for efficacy and side effects of medications.
- Develop nursing care plans for children with medical needs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary pre-admission client screens and
interviews as needed.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists to coordinate the psychiatric care
of clients throughout their treatment course.
- Provide first aid.
- Monitor medical and dental health parameters of clients and
collaborate with health care providers in the community.
- Maintain the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
- Maintain medication cart and emergency medication supplies.
- Prepare monthly medication administration supervision reports.
- Assist psychiatrists with communication and coordination with
parents/guardians, school, pharmacies and health care providers.
- Consult to clinical staff and guardians regarding medication and
- Provide cross-coverage nursing responsibilities if needed.
- Other duties as required.
- Monitor and/or provide staff CPR certification and
re-certification if needed.
- Provide DCF medication training, renewal, and monthly supervision
for medication certified staff if needed.
- Provide in-service education to staff.
- Preferred Bachelors in Nursing degree and experience in nursing
care of the child and adolescent psychiatric population. Minimum of
an Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
- Organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible and able to multi-task.
- Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Possess solid general computer skills, including ability to work in
a Windows XP environment. Familiarity with specific applications
used by the Village a plus.
- Cultural competency to serve diverse client population.
- The ability to physically perform the essential functions of the
above position with or without reasonable accommodations including
the ability to interact with children and adolescents in a
therapeutic environment/situation without risk of injury and able to
supervise groups of children and perform physical intervention if required.
About The Program
About Eagle House
Eagle House provides residential behavioral health treatment for children ages 6-12 who are transitioning from psychiatric hospitalization. Serving as a “step-down,” Eagle House helps prepare them for community-based treatment and a family or foster care setting.
Residents attend school onsite and receive intensive clinical support services, including ongoing nursing and psychiatry, family, group and individual therapy, and case management.
Professional staff at Eagle House use an active engagement/coaching/trauma-informed model of care to build relationships with the youth in order to stabilize them, help them improve overall functioning, and build the skills necessary to transition into a family successfully and permanently.
